On the Roxx, a smoke-free bar, has been open about five months, according to Carlson. (If the name sounds familiar, there's a second location in Cornelius.) It's a smaller place with intimate lighting, couches to lounge on and walls painted a rich red.
I'll definitely be going back on a Wednesday night when martinis are half-price. But I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. Bellverie brought together a diverse group of professional women of all ages (mostly in the 35-45 range) who were so friendly and welcoming that they reinstilled my belief in Southern charm.
Bless their hearts.

Hi there and thanks for your great reviews! I think it's also a great idea to include in every one of your reviews whether a place is smoking or non-smoking for us nonsmokers who don't like to go to smoky bars. This martini place sounds great and we will check it out!
ReplyDeleteJust because a drink is in a martini glass does not make it a martini. Strive a little harder to not be such a victim of marketing trends.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. I really like how you are choosing different places . Its nice to see reviews of places that always that well known. I think I know who is having martini's next Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteFYI, there is another non-smoking bar right next to On the Roxx. Carolina Wings and Rib House has arund 20 beers on tap and great bartenders in a friendly, laid back non-smoking atmosphere.
