Bentley's on 27th isn't bad, but it's a real shame there are no viewing areas atop our towers that's fully accessible to the public, like Chicago's Sears Tower and NYC's Empire State Building. Can someone name a place in uptown where you don't have to be part of the elite to enjoy the view from above? I can't think of one.
It's not built yet, but the new bar in Plaza Midwood (Soul?) where the Perch used to be (corner of Central and Pecan) is supposed to have an outside terrace which will have a perfect view of downtown.

ReplyDeletePatio at Mint Museum of Craft & Design
ReplyDeleteGin Mill has a pretty rooftop patio!
ReplyDeleteHOM and Forum's is OK. I bet the rooftop patio at the Epicenter will be pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI liked the old City Tavern roof top.
ReplyDeleteI'll 2nd that Gin Mill mention....
ReplyDeleteAny places outside of Dilworth, South End and uptown? That's what I'm really looking for. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMoosehead has a cool second story deck. You have to crane your neck to get a view of Uptown but its a great place for afternoon drinks.
ReplyDeleteCurrents on Providence in South Charlotte & Six Pence Pub in Baxter Village (Ft Mill).
ReplyDeleteWhat about LOFT 1523? It has a great rooftop that overlooks the city, but you don't have to deal with the uptown traffic.
ReplyDeleteThere's the patio at Village Tavern in SouthPark. No view of the city but Barclay Downs fountains are always a treat.
