(Another) update on Hom

Promoters can't get their you-know-what together over at the new Hom. After postponing the grand reopening last Friday to this Friday, the club has again postponed it until Saturday.

You follow?

So, Hom reopens Saturday with DJ Dice (Redman's DJ) and DJ Magic from Power 98.

At least they're giving more than same-day's notice this time.

All this postponing makes for a bad omen.

Why open this place...it was never good and I'm sure it will only be worse. Get a better owner, idea and concept and it may work. Charlotte is not that big and EpiCenter has too much to offer. Down the road, something will open and it will take business away from EpiCenter. This reminds me of The Sunset Club. Just because you close a place down, paint, change a bar and keep the same owner with the same concept...doesn't make the place better. Maybe these two owners need to learn when to get out of the business.

definitely a bad owen. shady ownership + bs, rookie promoters = cluster&*@k!?

and am i imagining things or wasnt this the same place that had racial discrimination claims a few CIAAs ago... when it was Menage? same owner right?

Hom Urban?... wtf!

WHY?? keep reporting on this. Seriously. Report on only those that are successful and those that aren't, well...

Latorre needs to forget about the night club scene. It's not his bag, bad omen or whatever. That gig has never worked in that space.

Here's an idea that would work and is something that is needed...... Urban Cracker !!!
An uptown Cracker Barrel complete with rocking chairs only instead of on the front porch put them on the roof and make them urban chic in style. Decorate the inside modern but offer the same home cooked style of food that made Cracker Barrel famous. You would capture the business workers for breakfast, the business workers for lunch and at 2:00 am you would be packed to the hilt with all the club goers wanting their down home country breakfast fix. On the weekends it would be filled with residents from Fourth Ward and people visiting the city. Everyone wants comfort food at some point and there is none uptown unless you count BoJangles.

I want royalties for this idea.

UGH! SO OVER THIS! DON'T GO TO HOM IF YOU HATE IT SO MUCH.
HILLBILLYS.......WOW.

I'm miles away from being a Hillbilly Buddy. I grew up and lived most of my life in the Big Apple. So don't for a second think you know crap about any sort of night life whatsoever. HOM sucks and always has, period.

SEE YA SATURDAY FRUITCAKES........

Obviously this blogger is tight friends with a few select promoters/owners etc in the QC and their gigs are the ones we hear about repeatedly on this blog.

Just left the re-opening of HOM. That was my last shot at this place. It is worse than it was before. Total dump and crap music. I give them two months tops.
Give it up already.

Ditto, what a dive.

went to HOM, for the first time, on Friday, for the grand opening and it was awesome!
I almost didn't go based upon what everyone here was saying.
Now, I know, it's just that those who posted here are a bunch of biased haters and nothing more.
I loved the club. The service was phenomenal, and the music was off the hook.
Going back this weekend, and I'm so glad, none of you posting here, will be there to spread your hate.

It's got nothing to do with "hate" you little Twirp and everything to do with an awful venue comprised of horrible music, bad management, lousy staff and douche-bag clientele. I am glad you love it, that just means I wont have to see you at any of the other clubs.

I am so happy that you feel at HOM,
Enjoy.

I was trying to be optimistic, this time around that Latorre would be a man of his word, and actually stand behind the re-opening of HOM.
We, the staff, trained, cleaned, and promoted for weeks, to re-open his venue. What does he do???
He decides, after all this work, and spent time, that he doesn't want to re-open it.
Forget all the lost "other REAL" jobs that we could have obtained while we COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY wasted our time and effort, believing in him!
No explaination behind his decision, and he wouldn't even tell the managers in person, and avoided all conversation, after having his lawyers send an email out, saying we wouldn't be opening this weekend!!!!
What?!
I am sooo sorry that I stuck up for him, in ANY and ALL previous posts!
Everyone was right!!!
The biggest jerk, and worst venue owner IS STEVEN LATTORE!!!

~Just one of many, disgruntled former employees!!

Steven Lattore, owner of the building which houses HOM night club, decided that he will not reopen the venue, as previously planned.
No reason was given, only an email, to the employees who had left their previous jobs, in order to dedicate their time and efforts, into the reopening of this venue.
Rumors floating about hint that Mr. Latorre is in the process of selling the building, all together. Many of the local blogs have written in regarding the shady business dealings of Mr. Latorre. Majority concensus is that he is a sneaky business man, who also has a bigottry issue, and his word, well, it's about as good as a pile of poop.
Let's hope this this so called "business man" of Charlotte, takes his fake promises, and pipe dreams, to another state, for this one, and all within it, have certainly had enough!

Wow, I only read this article because I heard this place was kind of hanious. However, I was really enertained by the angry posts created by a bunch of bloggers. Here's a tip, get a life. Anyone over the age of 24, has no place in a club anyway. Nothing is better than crappy electronic music played too loud By "musicans" like DJ douchebag. Ad on to the fact that no one can hear or talk at these places and douchebags with too much hair gel or metal in their mouths run up to skanks and hump their legs. I smack my dog for that. Grow up, go to a bar, have drink and a onversation. Better yet, don't worry about these crap holes an actually save your money to pay bills and imprve the qualitly of your life. Going out drinking isnt as much of an economic stimlus as you think.
