Stool Pigeons unveiling new look

The uptown sports bar temporarily closed Monday and is tentatively set to reopen next Wednesday with a new look and a new owner.

Greensboro's Rick Buckner bought the bar from CSM Restaurant Services -- which owns other Stool Pigeons locations around North Carolina -- but plans to keep the name and a loose affiliation with its namesake bars, according to manager J.K. Savilla.

Savilla says renovations include a much-needed audio and visual overhaul to add HD programming and plasma TVs throughout.

(Thanks to Rob for the tip!)

This is old news. They have been doing these renovations since this past Monday (9/14).

It's about time! I think it was the last bar uptown with old tube tv's.

How come it always seems empty? Oh wait, this is Charlotte.

Stool Pigeons went down hill the minute they let Jamey go and Amber ran the place. I hope they get it back to where it was in the past where it was actually fun to watch a game!!!

they need girls to dress skanky and I'll be their.

You'll be their what?

I prefer Stool Pigeons and their tube tvs over any of the new douchebag bars with all the tools that would rather dance than watch football.

Jamey was shady. Amber doesn't run the place she was just a bar manager so much for you knowing something. Stool Pigeons has great food and is one of the best places to go to actually WATCH a game on sundays. A lot of the same bartenders and servers are coming back so it won't be much different except for better tv's and sound system.

There are some hot girls there!

Hopefully they will get a better menu. We have been there last two weekends for college football, prices went up and food portion went way down. My chicken salad that I LOVE there was a small plate of limp greens with a bit of chicken on top. Otherwise very fun place to watch games!

As an employee of SP, I would like to thank all of you for your positive words! This is a great change for all of us and I think we have always had something to offer the community. I am very excited to be a part of the new concept, as I am positive that many of you are to see it! I know I, as well as the new staff at SP look forward to seeing/meeting all of you over the upcoming weeks/years to come! See all of you next week!

I agree about the prices went up, the food is average at best. Would go more often if there was better food.

How about snug fitting jerseys on the female servers with shorts? You know, conversation starters, cute. Give a chance to interact with the customer and talk trash, etc. And I hope it's not dark and cavernous anymore which is uninviting.

Please do NOT take away the all $2 drafts on Tuesdays... it is the best beer deal in the entire city. And the $1 tacos for that matter...
