Another steakhouse?

I got another press release today on uptown's latest steakhouse.

Chima Brazilian Steakhouse is set to open next month on South Tryon near Trade Street.

So what is that? The fifth one uptown alone? It joins Fleming's, Morton's, Ruth's Chris and Bentley's. And that's not even including steakhouses in SouthPark or even South End.

Is there really that much of a demand for red meat?

At least Chima has a Brazilian theme to it.

According the press release, "Chima provides authentic Brazilian cuisine and the ultimate Brazilian experience with an exquisite flair and passion that is evident in their service, food and appearance."

It's also not including nearby restaurants like Capital Grille who have some great steaks themselves.

I don't know how many is too many, but I love steak!

Chima is nothing like the other steakhouses around town. It's fun and inventive and an all-around different experience than a Morton's or Sullivan's.

You've never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse...you will see how it's different once you go eat there.

I agree w/ the other anon, it's really different and nothing like the other steakhouses around town.

I suggest not eating for about 2 days prior to going to Chima...there is SO much food...

This is not a steakhouse. It is a giant meat fest and any good American will love this place. I have been calling about the opening for months and am trying to setup a nightly meal plan. Imagine sitting at a meal where at anytime you raise a finger waiters sprint over to you with 20 cuts of meat. Christmas comes early!

I will eat meats and drink Caipirinhas until I pass out. Can't wait.

just don't get tricked into going big at the salad bar during the preliminary stages of the meal. save room for as much meat as possible.

I would agree with some of the other posters -- Brazilian Steakhouses are a totally different experience. I've never dined at Chima but a friend of mine at at their Florida location and said it was amazing!
